What is this website?
The findTech Connections website is a conglomeration of resources designed to assist the Rutgers community in their purchase of technology. The major vendors of computer technology at Rutgers are represented here through their online stores, as well as facilities and services operated by the University itself, such as University Computer Repair and the Software portal.

I'm lost...
You're currently looking at resources for making personal purchases of technology. If you are planning on making an institutional purchase, be it for a computer lab or an individual faculty or staff member, you should go to the portion of findTech for institutional purchases. In general, as long as you see "findTech Connections...for personal purchases" at the top of your screen, the vendors and services you are accessing are expecting to sell their wares directly to you, the individual, not the University.

The left menu options should remain constant while you're investigating the "personal" side of findTech. The general categories of 'Vendors' and 'Questions' represent the bulk of resources available to you, the individual, at Rutgers. Announcements on these same pages also pertain to opportunities available to individuals. Options may appear on the right margin below the Google search, but they are specific to whatever page you are viewing at that moment.

The Google search in the right margin currently scans all of the public findTech resources. So you need to be careful when exploring its results that you are still looking at "personal purchasing" resources.

Ok, so how do I make a purchase?
When planning a personal transaction with vendors or services represented on the findTech Connections website, you will be doing so much as you would with any online retailer on the Internet; directly with the vendor. There may be some slight variations, such as with personal purchases off the University PC Purchase Cycle, (read "How to Buy" once you're there) but for the most part, it's a very similar experience.

It's good to remember that findTech isn't a store, just a mashup, to use contemporary techno-jargon, of technology purchasing resources at Rutgers. The intention is to expedite access to those resources.

If you have more questions, or still need help, send a note to findTech through the 'Contact Us' link at the bottom of any page. We'll do what we can to assist.

Thanks for visiting!
